The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
