Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Warriors Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces expanding in strength within the city.

Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Revealed

Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise started the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the team reach places they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The target is wanted dead by the family.

This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.

What’s Next?

Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Questers and Schemers parties.

Audiences can anticipate discovering which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
